Reading The Plan, I cannot help but think that our provincial government’s ‘core review’ of the public post-secondary institutions, a process that is not yet over, was only a ruse. It occurs to me that this kind of directive, backed by the clout of financial ‘re-engineering’ to the educational institutions in the province is simply to ensure that the ‘correctly skilled labour force’ will be the bait to hook the LNG investment and industry to choose BC.
Whereas, to truly build an economy, an educated, resilient, entrepreneurial citizenry can adapt to change, generate economic activity, and reduce the need for government intervention. Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s animation of Alan Watt’s presentation has a lot to say on the matter…
